چکیده

Background Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) T1 mapping indices, including T1 time, partition coefficient (l), and extracellular volume fraction (ECV) measurements, are a group of emerging noninvasive, quantitative imaging biomarkers that can be used to assess diffuse myocardial fibrosis. Similar to other quantitative MRI measurements, T1 mapping results can be influenced by multiple scanner dependent factors, such as field strength, gradient systems, coil configuration, pulse sequence design, and artifacts related to field inhomogeneity and eddy currents. The purpose of this ex-vivo phantom, multicenter study was to investigate how scanner and field strength variation affected the accuracy and precision of T1 mapping indices.

Modified look-locker inversion recovery T1 mapping indices: assessment of accuracy and reproducibility between magnetic resonance scanners

BACKGROUND Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) T1 mapping indices, such as T1 time and partition coefficient (λ), have shown potential to assess diffuse myocardial fibrosis. The purpose of this study was to investigate how scanner and field strength variation affect the accuracy and precision/reproducibility of T1 mapping indices. METHODS CMR studies were performed on two 1.5T and three 3...

Model-Based Acceleration of Look-Locker T1 Mapping

Mapping the longitudinal relaxation time T1 has widespread applications in clinical MRI as it promises a quantitative comparison of tissue properties across subjects and scanners. Due to the long scan times of conventional methods, however, the use of quantitative MRI in clinical routine is still very limited. In this work, an acceleration of Inversion-Recovery Look-Locker (IR-LL) T1 mapping is...

A segmented modified look-locker inversion recovery (MOLLI) sequence for high heart rate T1 mapping of mice

Background Quantitative T1 mapping provides myocardial tissue characterization for assessment of various cardiomyopathies. The Modified Look-locker (MOLLI) sequence is widely used for mapping the T1quantification, where multiple single-shot images are acquired along the T1 recovery curve after an inversion pulse. However, single-shot imaging becomes infeasible for mouse imaging at high heart ra...

Accuracy and reproducibility of four T1 mapping sequences: a head-to-head comparison of MOLLI, ShMOLLI, SASHA, and SAPPHIRE

Background Quantitative myocardial T1 mapping provides in-vivo tissue characterization for assessment of cardiomyopathies. Pre and post-contrast T1 maps can be used to calculate the extracellular volume fraction (ECV) to detect diffuse myocardial fibrosis. Several imaging approaches have recently been proposed for measuring T1 values [1-4], but no head-to-head comparison has been reported to cr...

Validation of Small-Animal Look-Locker Inversion Recovery (SALLI) Cine versus Cine MR in assessment of left ventricular function

Background Small-Animal Look-Locker Inversion Recovery (SALLI) is a novel imaging method that generates simultaneously cardiac T1 maps, cine MR and inversion recovery-prepared images for high heart rates. T1 mapping by SALLI has been tested and compared with histology, however the assessment of left ventricular (LV) function has not yet been validated. Our aim was to compare the measurement of ...
